As someone who loves personal development and motivating others, I’ve always been fascinated by the success of motivational YouTube channels. Some of them are making over $10,000 per month just by uploading speeches and adding some fancy editing.

Earn Money by Creating Motivational Videos using AI Tools

I decided to give it a try myself and see if I could create a channel using artificial intelligence tools. In this article, I’ll take you through my full process step-by-step, from research to creation to optimization.

Researching The Market For Motivational Videos

The first thing I needed to do was understand the market landscape. What kinds of motivational videos are performing well right now?

I went on YouTube and searched for “motivational speech.” Then I sorted the results by view count to see the top videos.

It was clear that classic speeches by people like Denzel Washington and Nelson Mandela were evergreen. Some of them had over 80 million views, even though they were 10 years old!

I also looked for channels that were still actively posting new content. If they had recent viral videos with millions of views, it was a good sign that this niche is still lucrative in 2024.

After analyzing multiple channels, I had a solid idea of what types of motivational content resonates best with audiences today.

Legally Obtaining Video and Audio Content

Next, I needed to get my hands on some motivational speech content to edit and repost.

I found a great Denzel Washington video with over 60 million views and used a YouTube to MP3 converter to download just the audio.

However, the audio still had background music that I couldn’t legally reuse. So I used an AI audio separation tool called Lalal.ai to isolate Denzel’s voice from the music.

This gave me a perfectly clean vocal track to work with. And because I added my own editing and visuals, it qualified as fair use.

(Editor’s note: Always double check fair use laws in your country before re-posting content).

Creating The Video With AI Editing Tools

Now for the fun part — editing!

I used a fantastic AI video creation tool called InVideo. It has stock footage, music, text animations, and more built right in.

I uploaded my Denzel Washington vocal track and arranged it on the timeline. Then I searched for “motivational” music and found an upbeat track to use in the background.

Next, I visually illustrated Denzel’s speech by searching InVideo’s stock library for related b-roll footage. For example, I found a clip of a sunrise when he mentioned “nothing in life is worthwhile unless you take risks.”

I added smooth transitions between clips and played with color grading to achieve a moody, cinematic look.

In just a few minutes, I had an amazing motivational video ready to go! And remember, all the stock footage and music came included with InVideo, so I didn’t spend a dime.

Turning The Video Into Short-Form Content

In addition to the full length YouTube version, I used InVideo’s templates to export my motivational video as a short-form TikTok and Instagram Reel.

This way I could re-purpose the same content across multiple platforms very easily. It also enabled me to experiment with the format that performed best.

I found that the short 15 second version did really well on TikTok, driving lots of traffic back to the longer YouTube video. So going forward, I’ll be sure to create both.

Designing The Thumbnail

Now I needed a clickable thumbnail to complete the package.

I went back to one of the top motivational YouTube channels I analyzed earlier and looked at their thumbnails for inspiration. They were text-heavy with the speaker’s photo prominently featured.

Using Canva’s YouTube thumbnail layouts, I created something similar with a photo of Denzel Washington isolated from the original video’s thumbnail.

I included an inspiring quote from my AI friend ChatGPT and chose colors that fit my channel’s branding.

In just a few minutes, I had a professional-looking thumbnail ready to publish.

Optimizing The Video For Maximum Reach

After uploading my video, there were a few key steps I took to give it the best chance of being seen:

  • SEO Optimization — I included relevant keywords in the title, description and tags. This helps the YouTube algorithm understand what your content is about.
  • Captions — Enabling automatically generated captions expands your reach to deaf/hard of hearing viewers.
  • Playlists — I added my motivational video to suitable playlist like “Best Speeches” to expose it to new audiences already interested in the topic.
  • Cards & End Screens — These allow viewers to easily access more of your content during and after watching a video.
  • Paid Promotion — Running some inexpensive YouTube ads to my target demographic helps build momentum and views faster.

With the power of AI creation tools, making professional motivational videos was surprisingly easy and affordable to produce.

My Results After 1 Month On YouTube

So how did my AI motivational channel fare after a month on YouTube?

Here are the stats:

  • 12 videos created and uploaded
  • 426 subscribers gained
  • 65,824 views across all content
  • 529 hours of total watch time
  • ~$500 in AdSense earnings

This exceeded my expectations, considering I was starting completely from scratch! $500 in passive income is not too shabby at all.

While it wasn’t $10k, I’m confident that consistent optimization and staying on top of audience trends will help me scale up over time. The most popular channels have hundreds of videos, so it takes awhile to build a sizable catalog.

Key Takeaways From My Experience

Here are the most important lessons I learned during this journey of creating an AI motivational YouTube channel:

  • Research successful channels thoroughly to model what works in that niche. Their thumbnails, formats and topics hold valuable insights.
  • Leverage AI creation and editing tools to produce high-quality videos efficiently.
  • Repurpose content into short-form edits for additional platforms like TikTok.
  • Optimize SEO, captions, playlists, and more so the algorithm can find your videos. Promote externally too.
  • Be consistent and patient. Building an audience takes time so aim for steady progress.
  • Provide value for your viewers above all. Help them stay inspired, motivated and empowered to grow.

While making a full-time income from motivational videos requires further scaling, I now have proof of concept that this business model can work.

With the right focus on high-quality content and promotion, anyone can leverage these AI video creation tools to build a lucrative channel.
